Liking is used when when the action is in progress.

Like + infinitiv is often used when the word is expressing the purpose of something or someone's opinion about something

•Like+V-ing-> when you do something that gives you pleasure.

ex: I like swimming in the sea.

•like+ full infinitive-> when you refer to something that you consider necessary or useful.

ex: I like to pay my bills when I get them.
